Loreen Arbus Focus on Disability Scholarship

About the Loreen Arbus Focus on Disability Scholarships

On behalf of the Television Academy and our Board of Directors, it is a pleasure to tell you about a new partnership with The Loreen Arbus Foundation and the Foundation of American Women In Television & Radio. To commemorate the 20th Anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act in 2010, the Loreen Arbus Focus On Disability Scholarships have been created to focus on the needs, achievements and contributions of people with disabilities.

Created by Loreen Arbus, two very deserving young women filmmakers will be our first recipients of the Focus on Disability Scholarships which recognize student filmmakers whose work sheds light on people with disabilities, helps emerging artists gain recognition and increases visibility for artists with disabilities. Please click here to read the press release for all of the details.

One honoree, representing the Television Academy Foundation, produced a very moving documentary, and one honoree representing the Alliance for Women in Media (formerly AWRT) produced a wonderful PSA. Each will receive a $10,000 scholarship from The Loreen Arbus Foundation.

In its inaugural year, we are honored to have Loreen Arbus and Robert David Hall present the awards at the:
